About ecoBaseline
I'm Brent Lloyd, the founder of ecoBaseline.
My background is in engineering. I've spent most of my career as a Marine Electro-Technical Officer and Mechatronics Engineer, working in environments where regulations, documentation, and getting the details right actually matter.
That technical mindset is what I bring to packaging compliance.
ecoBaseline exists because the EU is changing how hospitality businesses package food and drink.
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) comes into force on 12 August 2026, and most small hospitality businesses I speak to don't know what's required of them or where to start. Their suppliers don't always have the answers either.
What started as a personal interest in sustainability and biomimicry has become a practical business solving a real problem. ecoBaseline does two things:
-
Written compliance assessments that show hospitality businesses exactly where they stand against PPWR.
-
Direct supply of compliant packaging from trusted EU manufacturers, delivered to your business without you needing to source it yourself.
I'm based in Mallorca, Spain. ecoBaseline operates under Flumni LLC.
What you can expect
Built on the regulation
Every assessment is based on the current EU PPWR regulation and verified national authority sources. The position you receive reflects what the regulation actually requires, not generic advice.
Certified compliant packaging
ecoBaseline supplies only packaging certified to recognised European compostability and recyclability standards, sourced from established EU manufacturers with verified product certifications. Compliance is built into every product we recommend.
Clear answers, not jargon
Regulations are written for lawyers, not restaurant owners. ecoBaseline translates the technical requirements into plain English so you know exactly what applies to your business and what to do about it.
